About Jodie

Doris Day has very big shoes to fill, and Miss Prenger certainly manages…Jodie will enter the pantheon of musical greats alongside Judy Garland, Bette Midler, Julie Andrews and, of course, Doris Day.Nottingham Post

Jodie is a well renowned actress, singer and performer, who has shot to stardom from humble beginnings. Originally from Blackpool, Lancashire, Jodie performed extensively on the cabaret and musical circuit before going on to win the part of Nancy on the West End revival of Oliver!, a role which would earn her the 2010 WhatsOnStage award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical.

Following her critically lauded performance in Oliver!, Jodie stole the show as The Lady of the Lake in the UK tour of Spamalot, as well as starring as Fairy Bow Bells in Manchester Opera House’s production of Dick Whittington and portraying Dolly in The National Theatre’s production of One Man, Two Guvnors at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

Jodie is currently touring with the Watermill Theatre for a new production of the classic musical Calamity Jane. Jodie plays the titular gun-totin’, disaster-prone heroine, who acts like a man but loves like a woman. The show takes the audience on a hilarious but heart-warming journey, as ‘Calam’ tries to get a famous music-hall star from Chicago to perform at the local saloon. Imbuing the role with her well honed acting chops, and blowing the roof off with her incredible voice, Jodie has been called ‘a force to be reckoned with’ by The Stage, and such praise is well deserved.

The star of the show is head-liner Jodie Prenger who ticks all the boxes as sharp-shootin’ ‘Calam’…Prenger fully embodies the role to the extent that you can’t help but imagine her wandering the street with a gun, ready to stop fights and save society with a song. Indeed, her voice is as warm as a Wild West sunrise, and you’ll never have heard Secret Love performed in a manner quite as honest or gutsy.Backstagepass.biz

As well as her many stage musical performances, Jodie Prenger toured with John Barrowman for his 2010 and 2011 tours, and appears on his self-titled album singing a duet of the song So Close. As part of The Very Best of Glenn Miller, Jodie recorded a brand new version of hit song In the Mood.

As a result of her incredible weight loss, Jodie decided it was high time she should help others, and on New Year’s Day 2014 released Jodie’s Fitness Blasts. This exclusive fitness DVD will work for anyone, whatever your needs and experience. Whether you work through the whole comprehensive routine or fit in 10 minutes when you can, Jodie’s Fitness Blasts will help you lose weight and feel great.
